Jamón ibérico

This is cured ham made from Ibérico pigs, raised exclusively in woodlands and pastures of certain parts of Spain (Andalusia, Extremadura and Salamanca), and fed naturally, preferably on acorns. The meat is juicy, with an intense aroma and a distinctive shade of red, brought on by the exercise the animal gets whilst in search of food. Owing to these characteristics, Ibérico ham, unlike other animal products, is rich in unsaturated fats -like, for example, the fats found in olive oil- which regulate cholesterol levels in the blood. Consequently, Ibérico ham is an exquisite yet healthy delicacy. An authentic jewel of Spanish cuisine.
